Joshua is your average college student. He maintains good grades and has a solid circle of friends. He has a great personality, as well as awesome social skills. But every now and then he suffers from anxiety panic attacks.

Joshua’s struggle with anxiety panic attacks is not rare. In fact, unknown to most, more than 40 million people have anxiety disorders in one form or another. Not all are diagnosed by mental health professionals because this condition can be embarrassing to admit. But in almost all cases, anxiety panic attacks can significantly affect a person’s way of life.

To understand anxiety panic attacks better, it helps to first understand what anxiety is.

Anxiety is a normal, universal emotion. Anxiety is the way our minds warn us that there may be danger ahead, and that we should either fight or flee. As an instinct, anxiety is very protective. If a person is always putting himself in dangerous situations, and yet feel no anxiety, then his instinctive defense system may not be working as well as one can hope.

The problem comes when anxiety becomes excessive, unmanageable or comes without cause or reason. When this happens, anxiety panic attacks set in. Anxiety panic attacks are intense feelings of anxiety that come without warning and seems overwhelming to a person. When one is having an attack, he can get chills, palpitations, clammy hands, hyperventilation, terror and paranoia.

The good thing is, help is always available for people experiencing anxiety panic attacks. One of the most popular interventions is a behavioral conditioning technique called progressive desensitization.

In this method, the person with anxiety panic attacks is made to identify the situations or objects that trigger their attacks. Once this is done, he or she is gradually made to face these triggers, or at least associate them with more pleasant things.

For example, an individual who gets anxiety panic attacks whenever he or she is in high places can stay slowly make his way to higher and higher storeys in a building until he or she can get used to the height.

Aside from progressive desensitization, people with anxiety panic attacks should learn and practice relaxation techniques. These techniques include guided meditation, breathing exercises, music and play therapy.

Native Remedies Nerve Tonic, MindSoothe and Pure

Customer Review:

This was the second order that I have placed for the PureCalm. I think it works great with St. John’s Wort. The Nerve Tonic is supposed to be chewed or sucked. It tastes like bad chalk. Stale flavor with chalky aftertaste has kept me from taking it consistently, so I don’t even know if it helps. My opinion is that the PureCalm, St. John’s Wort, and Valerian Root together work very well for me … Read More

Customer Review:

Ok, I love lavender, so I’m biased. Still, this Traditional Medicinals Organic Chamomile with Lavender Tea is just spectacular. I’ve never tasted an herbal tea so good. I’m not sure if I just love the tea or if it truly has “digestive and nervous system sedating properties” but I feel relaxed when I drink it … Read More Info
